Carl is a writer, journalist and consultant. After a long career in business and financial journalism, he is currently a free-lance columnist and provides consultancy services to business organisations on media relations.
After graduating, Carl worked in corporate finance in the City of London for a major European investment bank. He then moved into journalism and spent 18 years with The Times, initially as a City reporter and then as a stock market commentator and finally as World Business Editor, writing regular columns for the business and opinion sections of the paper. He writes opinion columns on business and politics for the Globe and Mail, a Canadian newspaper and London's Evening Standard.
